“What good is a great depth of field if there is no adequate depth of feeling ? This quote from the great American documentary photographer Eugene Smith nicely tells the essence of what it means to us to be photographers. What defines this profession is not only the complex equipment, the expensive filters, and the technique acquired over the years, but rather the sensitivity and the ability to observe and look through, but also beyond, the lens.

As Method Emotions photographers, we aim to capture the essence of what we have in front of us, trying every time, as if it were the first time, to tell a story with our images. To us, it is pivotal that the stories and the emotions that our photos tell, leave a trace. We are convinced that photography can help us to “keep our memory alive when our memories begin to get lost over time” as Silvana Stremiz suggests.

“Emotion” means bringing out, and this is what we aim to do with every shot: to let the most alive and sincere part of each instant emerge, to put the eyes in contact with the heart, to let the feeling and the reason speak.
